I've had past experience (unfortunately) with players, and on researching their characteristics (i.e. behaviour etc), they very much resemble psychopaths. So I just wondered if one could classify or consider womanizers (also known as players) as psychopaths (or Socio-paths)? By the way, what is the difference between a socio-path and a psychopath?

I have read the material... thank you. From my research, it seems to me that psychopaths and womanizers/players demonstrate the same characterisitics - does this mean womanizers are psychopaths - because I do think this may be so.

Hi, Psychopaths tend to have many victims so yes I would say they are womanizers. However that said I would not jump to the conclusion that all womanizers are Psychopaths. The dividing line to be classified as a Psychopath is the lack of a conscience.

I would suggest perhaps taking a look at the checklist and see how this person you are inquiring about rates.

If you have more of your story to add perhaps we could help you with some comments from the members that have experiences first hand. I think most of them will agree that the Psychopaths in their lives did indeed have multiple relationships. I am sure that not every person who is womanizer is lacking a conscience but perhaps weak boundaries and may do so for a host of other reasons.
