I don't think I was as surprised that Durst was able to buy him way out, what surprised me was that the trial was in Texas!!! How could a jury let a killer who not only murdered an old man but took the hack saw to his body.

I keep my fingers crossed they get him on the other "suspected" murders.

I always thought the jurys in Texas were tough. I have heard the state called "The hang 'em State".

Texas aside the verdict still shocks me.

Agreed Agreed Still say might just have been a REAL dumb jury Di.
Nice to think those crazy Texans wanted to take care of that one themselves on the courthouse steps when it was over but no such luck ( you'll get used to my weird sense of humor it grows on you)
oh well
i think they'll just have to get him on some of the other stuff
the guy is a super creep
chopping people up disqusing as a mute old lady
i hate to ponder what in the world he did with the old man's head
they don't make 'em any weirder than that old guy

Something else that totally revolted me (about Scott Peterson this time) was the story his half-sister Ann told, that when Scott was staying at her place in San Francisco which had a view of the bay, he was walking around her living room handing out "flirtinis" and hitting on their teenage babysitter all the while knowing that his wife and unborn son's bodies were right there in the bay. At least her husband cottoned on that he was shady.

Flirtinis!! Maybe it's me but a "flirtini" just sounds right up a P's alley. Slick.

Hi, I'm new to this board, and this is my first post!

My question is, do you think OJ Simpson is a P?

hi Stormy, welcome to the board.

I don't really follow the OJ story, but I'll make a few comments anyway...

the murder itself doesn't stand out as necessarily the act of a P. crimes of
"passion" or "love" from normal people fill the police blotters all over.

crimes more typical of the P are cold blooded murders for trivial affronts,
or done completely as a thrill seeking activity with no emotional involvement
with the victim at all.

that said, OJ seems to display an extra-ordinary amount of callouseness
or lack of concience following the murder, so that might be in the
category of a "red flag" that would cause you wonder if he might be a P.

other than the murder itself, I would look for other signs of lack of concience,
dishonesty, or other red flags in other parts of his life.

I'm inclined to think that the amount of dedication to become a star athelete
mitigates against his being a P. the temptations on a star athelete to screw
up are quite high, tho I completely haven't followed his record in this regard.

like many others, I was struck by Nicoles' note that she expected OJ to kill her
and get away with it "because he was OJ". could be a "red flag" where she's
recognizing the extraordinary persuasiveness and ability to evade responsibility
that is one of the P core competencies.

just a few thoughts...

Hi Stormy, welcome to the forum. I don't want to diagnose but will, lol, in this case. If OJ isn't a Psychopath then I walk on all fours.

Since he has been in the news more I have renewed my interest in observing him. He doesn't seem to have ANY remorse. I think the only reason he got off on the murder rap was due to jury nullification (sic). The prosecution made many mistakes, moving the court location and the list goes on. Not to mention the camera hog Judge Ito. The jury took about zero time deliberating and with such a complex case it would appear that if it wasn't jury nullification they sure had a quick way of acquitting a double murder case.

Did Mark F. make some mistakes in the past using the N word, sure he did but that never should have been a deal breaker on letting a killer run free. The evidence, imo, spoke for itself. I always found it fascinating how the black community (obviously I don't speak for all or any of them) embraced him when he had shunned them in the past pre murders.

Along with the families of Nicole and Ron, I have a great deal of empathy for the children in his custody.

Heck, he was laughing it up on the golf course as soon as he got out of jail.

Keep in mind that I never read any of the tons of books about the case because I followed it closely and I refuse to put money in the pockets of those loser prosecutors and slimy "dream team".

Di
