Yup. Female psychopaths do exist, but are far rarer than the male. Something to do with the innate empathy of the female required to successfully rear children I guess. Evolutionary theory would suggest that female psychopathy would tend to be maladaptive - would tend to be selected against more strongly than male psychopathy.
It's been suggested on the basis of game theory (Psychopathy = the cheaters strategy)that male psychopathy could be adaptive up to a small percentage of the population. Above that percentage it becomes maladaptive as the non-psyhopathic portion of the population becomes conscious of the cheats in their midst and goes en garde against them...
