Thanks Tiasa for your advice. Yes I have once again pulled out of any relationship with my brother, but this time for good. Strangely enough it is not difficult for me to do this (been there done that).I am actually at peace with my decision. His girlfriend is "trying" to straighten him out (having him pay people he owes money to, go to social services to let them know he doesn't have a job now and his ex wife will not be getting child support etc etc etc). In my eyes as well as my parents he needs professional help and I am afraid as soon as he gets his ducks in order with everything else he will leave his girlfriend in the dust and move on to create havoc in someone elses life. That is just what he does. Is there help for psychopaths? Thanks again!

Hello EAVGH... I'm very glad to hear you have established NO CONTACT with your brother. I can't even imagine how hard that is to do. What were things like when you were kids? Did he always show signs of being a psychopath or did it "emerge" as he got older? I have read that signs start showing about age 14 (I've done A LOT of reading on this "subject"). Since I've been "fooled" (I thought I was MADLY IN LOVE and was ready to leave EVERYTHING for the LOSER!) If you want to read my story just click on my name and you could see ALL my posts. I've been very interested in these "CREATURES" since I was involved and am very aware of people and as soon as I spot any of the traits - I run the other way!!! Seriously, in my opinion, they are DANGEROUS and to be avoided like the plague!

All the research I've read on "CAN THEY BE HELPED?" has said that psychotherapy usually makes them worse, and history has shown that they never change, simply because they don't think anything is wrong with THEM (the rest of the world is messed up!)'

There is sooooo much knowledge, experience, warnings, advice, strenghth and hope posted here on this website... please read all you can and know you are LUCKY to realize what your brother is and know what to do. (NO contact!!!!)
I feel for his "girlfriend" and agree with you 100% that as soon as he is through "USING" her for HIS benefit, he will find another target.

Keep posting, Love, Tiasa

Hi Tiasa,

I am finally getting back to you with a response regarding my brother. I noticed his strange behavior at 14 though from my understanding he showed signs a lot earlier. I read your story, it was very interesting. As of now his girlfriend has just become a friend to him and is trying to get him to get his act together (financially). I personally think she is wasting her time. He has already lied to her face since his last escapade(stealing from work). He is still in contact with the shady ex (?) girfriend but denies a phone conversation with her he had in the presence of his new Ex girlfiend (you follow?).I am staying away from him and he knows that I want no contact with him. He has not been the kind of uncle he should be. I am tired of having to explain to my girls why they don't see their uncle anymore or their cousins (his kids). But sadly they have become so used to him coming in and out of their lives they don't seem to think much of it. Thanks for responding back to me. This is such a great site to come to to vent and to get advice and assurance.

EAVGH
